Project Description

CNG360 is a full-stack digital platform built by TTPL for managing the complete lifecycle of compressed gas cylinder testing and certification for vehicles. The system digitalizes the physical inspection and testing process for CNG, LPG, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Oxygen cylinders fitted across all major vehicle types — Auto, Car, Bus, Tempo, LCV, and HCV.

The platform connects five distinct user roles — SuperAdmin, Admin, Dealer, Feeder (testing center operator), and Customer — with a Government portal for compliance monitoring. Each role operates within a precisely controlled access environment, enabling dealers to register vehicles, feeders to conduct and record tests, customers to track their certificates, and administrators to oversee the entire network.

Key outputs include digitally generated PDF test certificates with complete inspection data, pressure readings, wall thickness measurements, and photographic evidence — eliminating paper-based records and enabling end-to-end traceability for every cylinder in the system.

Goal

The goal of CNG360 was to replace paper-based cylinder testing records with a centralized, role-driven digital platform that brings full traceability to the compressed gas cylinder inspection lifecycle. The system needed to support the entire value chain — from vehicle and cylinder registration through physical testing, certificate issuance, and government compliance verification.

Challenges

Complex Multi-Step Inspection Workflow: A single cylinder test involves capturing dozens of precise measurements — valve inspection, visual and internal inspection, cylinder threading, wall thickness measurements at shell and bottom, weight analysis (tare, actual, loss %), water capacity, working pressure, test pressure, and total/permanent expansion. Designing an accurate, validated data entry flow for this technical process was a core challenge.

Multi-Role Access Architecture: The platform serves six distinct roles (SuperAdmin, Admin, Dealer, Feeder, Customer, Government) with fundamentally different responsibilities and data access scopes. Building a clean, scalable RBAC system where each role sees exactly what they need — and nothing more — required careful access control design across both API and frontend layers.

Digital Certificate Generation: Certificates had to be generated as formatted PDF documents with all inspection measurements, test results, reference photos, and compliance data formatted precisely to match existing physical certificate standards — and be printable on demand.

Expiry Tracking & Proactive Alerting: The dashboard needed to continuously track certificate expiry dates and surface actionable information — vehicles expiring today, this week, and this month — to help dealers and testing centers proactively manage renewals without missing deadlines.

Solutions
Structured Digital Inspection Workflow

We modeled the full cylinder testing process as a structured digital form with clearly sectioned data entry: vehicle identification, cylinder specification, inspection results (valve, visual, threading, internal), dimensional measurements (diameter, wall thickness), pressure test data (working pressure, test pressure, expansion), weight analysis, and a final Pass/Fail result with remarks and photographic evidence. Field-level validations ensure data integrity before any certificate is issued.

Role-Based Multi-Stakeholder Architecture

A six-role RBAC system (SuperAdmin, Admin, Dealer, Feeder, Customer, Government) governs the entire platform. Dealers register vehicles and manage customer portfolios. Feeders (testing centers) perform inspections and record test data. Customers track their vehicle certificates and expiry status. Government users have read-only compliance visibility. Every role is enforced at the Angular route guard level and the ASP.NET Core 8 API authorization layer simultaneously.

On-Demand PDF Certificate Generation

Using DinkToPdf, the system generates professionally formatted cylinder test certificates on demand — including all inspection measurements, pressure readings, weight analysis, cylinder specifications, test dates, next due dates, Pass/Fail results, reference photos, and digitally issued certificate numbers. Certificates match the format of physical compliance documents and are printable directly from the platform.

Real-Time Expiry Dashboard & Alerts

A role-specific dashboard surfaces live expiry intelligence: total vehicles, certificates expiring today, expiring this week, and expiring this month. Admin users also see total dealers and feeders across the network. This proactive visibility eliminates surprise expirations and helps dealers prioritize renewal scheduling before compliance deadlines are missed.

Vehicle Transfer & OTP Verification

The platform supports vehicle ownership transfer between customers with a secure OTP-based verification step, ensuring that cylinder history and testing records follow the vehicle across ownership changes. This maintains a continuous, tamper-resistant audit trail for every cylinder registered in the system, regardless of how many times it changes hands.

Azure-Backed Photo & Document Storage

Vehicle and cylinder reference photographs are captured and stored in Azure Blob Storage, linked directly to test certificate records. This eliminates physical photo filing and ensures that every certificate is backed by tamper-proof photographic evidence accessible from any authorized device, at any time.
